Mike Sturm

Facilities Administrator

In Nov of 2004, Mike, at the age of 43 accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior.
He joined FBC High Springs through water baptism 2 months later in Jan 2005.
Mike and his childhood sweetheart, Mary, have been together for 39 years. They
renewed their marriage vows as Christians in April of 2006. They have two grown
children, Ginnie and Justin. So far, they have one granddaughter, Peggy Lou.
Mike was raised in a military family so he moved around a lot as a child, but
he has lived most of his life in Florida and has been in the Alachua/High Springs
area since 1984.

Mike received his BA in Pastoral Studies with an emphasis on counseling in
2008. Before that, he was in the construction trade and also enjoyed some time
as an antique dealer. In his early adult years he served 6 years as a Seabee in the
US Naval Reserve. He later spent 8 years as the Scoutmaster for Troop 69 of High
Springs and that experience fostered his interest in counseling and mentoring.
His enthusiasm for missions has led him to Haiti multiple times as well as
many domestic missions over the years ranging from hurricane relief to
leadership on youth oriented trips. He is an ordained deacon, he sits on numerous church committees, he is the Co-Director of the Pray then Play Sports ministry, and the Director of the
church’s Sunday School ministry (Life Connections). He is also one of our Sunday
School teachers.

Blessed by his service, if God is willing, Mike hopes to spend many more
years helping to support the staff, ministries and congregation of First Baptist
Church High Springs.
